For each sample, this excellent realistic sound can be played from four different positions in the church. In the first position, it is as if you were sitting in the organ pew. The reverberation is rendered directly, the acoustics are in the background. In the second position, you are like a listener near the organ case.
The reverberation is already somewhat audible, but the direct sounds still dominate. In the third position, you are in the centre of the church: the sound and the reverberation merge like on a CD recording. In the fourth position, you are at the back of the church, behind the reverberation beam.
The Johannus LiVE is unique in that it gives you a central position as an organist. The sound from the speakers is projected directly into your ears. The sounds of the organ really blend into the space where the original pipe organ is located.
You don't need to be imaginative to believe that you are sitting at the keyboards of the great monumental organs of famous cathedrals. In theory, you are simply there.
Each register of the Johannus LiVE is equipped with a small dynamic display, so that you can easily switch from one pipe organ layout to another. As an example: the register that designates a 4' Prestant for the Cavaillé-Coll organ in the church of Notre-Dame d'Auteuil in Paris, designates a 4' Cor de Chamois on the Bätz organ in St. Martin's Cathedral in Utrecht.
Depending on the organ you are playing at the time, the displays show the corresponding register arrangement. The registers are selected by means of the wooden drawbars, which gives the same feeling as playing the pipe organ.
